Leadership
The people behind the work.
AISDG is led by practitioners, organizers, and educators with deep roots in the communities we serve.
Yusuf Abdul-Qadir
Co-founder & Secretary
Yusuf Abdul-Qadir is a product policy leader, civil rights organizer, educator, and Cannes-recognized executive producer whose career sits at the intersection of technology, media, and social impact.
He served as a product policy lead at Meta, where he shaped policy for products reaching billions of users globally. He previously served as Director of the ACLU New York — Central New York Chapter, where he led civil rights litigation, public education, and community organizing across a twelve-county region.
Yusuf is currently faculty at Syracuse University, where he teaches AI and Justice — a course examining how artificial intelligence systems reproduce, amplify, and sometimes challenge existing structures of power and inequality. His pedagogy connects policy analysis, technical literacy, and community organizing.
As an executive producer, his work has been recognized at Cannes. He brings that same commitment to storytelling, craft, and consequence to AISDG's programming and convening work.

AISDG is governed by a board of three directors, who are also its officers. All three serve without compensation of any kind, and the organization has no employees.
